Don Imus Will Now Pollute User Generated Media

Don Imus will not be silenced. He’ll show up on sattelite radio or in his own podcast. By firing him, Imus is now free to spew his pollution in media that’s unregulated. Give it about 30-days.

I’ll Be on The Tabby Johnson Show

I’ll be heading over to CFRB 1010 tomorrow to do a live in-studio interview with Tabby Johnson, host of The Tabby Johnson Show. We’ll be chatting about all things podcasting and other stuff. I was told by the person who called me that my bio seemed interesting to Tabby, so we will probably talk about other things besides what I do for a living.

Tune in at 5pm on Saturday April 13, 2007 in your car, at home, or visit the CFRB 1010 website to listen live. I was told I should be on around 5:07pm.

Bendrix Proves Chivalry Is Not Dead

Here’s a free tip guys. If you want to score mucho, mucho points with the ladies, don’t bore her with details about your yearly income and the Hummer sitting in your brother’s wife’s sister’s friend’s boss’ boss’ boss’ parking lot.

Instead, give her your gloves on a cold windy day, offer to roll her luggage around, hop on the subway and escort her and her friends right to their front door, then give her a hug and go home. Offer nothing but your strength and character, take nothing but her words of thanks.

Nuff luv to Bendrix for proving that chivalry is not dead. Not only did he find the most direct route for myself, Wendy, Tammy & Ava to take to the hotel on that complicated New York subway system, but he did all of what I described in paragraph #2.

Thanks to Wendy for taking the picture.

Episode 010 - Podcasting for Profit from Podcamp NY

Get your lesson in Podonomics with your host Leesa Barnes who explores ways you can use a podcast to open doors, generate leads and make money.

In Episode 10, Leesa provides a summary of Podcamp NYC. She also includes a snippet from the session she led at Podcamp NYC called Podcasting for Profit. Don’t forget to review the Talking Points and hear Leesa’s Pick of the Week.

Thanks to Vinny Green for recording my session for me at Podcamp NYC. You rock!

Podcamp NY is Quite Much

I’m sitting here at Podcamp NY at an exhibitor table that Chris Penn abandoned me at. I have no clue where he is at this moment, but what I can say is that Podcamp NY is rather much. Lots of people, lots of buzz, lots of activity. Should make for an interesting day.

If iTunes Were a Woman, I’d Put Runs in Her Stockings

There’s very little in life that pisses me off. I’m pretty open minded and I have thick skin. Yet, when iTunes is trying to sabotage me, that’s when the gloves come off.

About 6-months ago, I separated my blog and podcast feeds after getting some complaints that people couldn’t find my podcast. I thought everything was hunky doory until my publisher told me he couldn’t find my podcast in iTunes.

How to Not to Piss Off Your Audience

Michael O’Connor Clarke, a fellow Canuck, offered some really great advice on how to keep your audience happy. He has 5 tips:

  1. Stop preaching to the choir.
  2. Stop preening.
  3. Lead with value.
  4. More voice less noise.
  5. Plan your spontaneity.

He offers an expansion on the five points above in his blog post. Go over and take a quick read. You’ll love his sage advice.

Podcast Interview Tips - Ask Permission After Its Done

I’ve been conducting a whole lot of interviews for my book, Podcasting for Profit.

Because I’m deeply entrenched in this podcasting thing and because people know me, I’ve been getting some really meaty interviews. I can’t wait to produce a sample of each interview and especially the ones I did with Dave Slusher, Chris Pirillo, Robert Walch, Steve Garfield, Cali Lewis and Scott Bourne (among others).

Which brings me to the focus of this post.
